Many electronic workbench listings stop at size, frame and worksurface. Yet soldering a board and testing firmware ask different things of a desk, so the right bench starts with the task, not the catalogue.
One bench, several variants
At Blacxird Industries in Chennai, we're engineering an electronics workbench as our own product platform, built as a family of variants. The variant shown is configured for PCB assembly and rework, with the working tools within reach of one seated user:
- Light and magnification: overhead lighting, a monitor and a microscope on an arm.
- Power and soldering: a bench power supply, soldering station and fume extractor.
- Storage: component bins, shelves and a pegboard tool wall.
Other variants suit testing, programming or enclosure assembly, and each can be customised to your workflow.
What to decide before you buy
Task: assembly, rework, testing or programming.
Users: one or two per bench.
ESD control: for static-sensitive parts, ANSI/ESD S20.20 limits worksurface resistance to ground to below 1×10⁹ ohms.
Flow: how boards, instruments and enclosures move between stations.
How we develop it
Concept, industrial design, engineering, Rhino 3D CAD, fabrication drawings, prototype, validation, then production.
